We had the honor of going to an Earthquake shelter. During the evening there are over 70 families here, but during the day many are gone to work.
These are people whose homes were destroyed to the point of being uninhabitable. They are here while their homes are being repaired or replaced.
This family lost 5 people - daughter and son-in-law, a sister and 2 grand children - when their house collapsed in the earthquake. The section they slept was totally destroyed.
They have been told that it could be 2 years before their home is replaced. That is 2 possible years of living in this camp.
Here one of the children is washing his school clothes. School was closed today because of the earthquakes last night. The schools will be inspected for safety and reopened tomorrow.
We had payer with the family and invited them to the show.
This ladies family lost their home but all survived. They too are in the camp long term.
While there I met with the Doctor that provides care for the camp. He said the greatest threats now are hypertension and diabetes amongst the older adults. There is fresh water and waste removal provided for the camp that helps tremendously.
I had prayer with him and thanked him for his work among these people precious to God.
We presented the Gospel through song, drama, painting and lesson.
